About Me

Hello my name is Kaelan Hill. I’m currently working as a Quality Assurance Tester 2 at Big Huge Games.
Even as a kid, I’ve always been interested in a wide range of different activities and interests. From tennis to Dungeons and Dragons, to Painting to just about any vehicle for storytelling. However one of the large constants in my life has been a passion for games.

Ever since I was a kid and I was playing Age of Empires (1997) on my dad’s lap, I’ve been fascinated with games and game systems. And when I got to experience the complex interactions in Dragon Age: Origins or Dishonored? I was sold. I needed to learn as much as I possible could about how designers were able to create such intricate systems. This culminated in me eventually heading off to college where I completed a BFA in Game Design at George Mason University. From there I formalized the learning that I had accumulated over the last 20 years of playing games.

After college I was hired as a QA tester at Big Huge Games, where I’ve had many opportunities to aid and develop my skills in a wide range of areas such as tools engineering, system design and design proposals, and of course QA testing.

I hope to create games similar to the games that inspired me when I was young. Elegant simple designs that reveal more complexity the longer that you play them.
